Finished

6'8" Three Weight

This rod is just about ready to head out to Cali. The varnish is just about dry enough to rub out any blems and polish. One of those rods that was a battle the whole way through the build. Sometimes you'll have this. It turned out to be great little dry fly rod. One tip which I prefer is slightly heavier.

Thanks for looking!!

Finishing a Slide Band Reel Seat

Finishing Up a Reel Seat

Here is a reel seat made by request for a rod that I am working on. The hardware is made by REC components. It is made from cork and Koa wood. I did not use the cork check. I instead made one from wood instead. This is nothing new obviously. It is new to Me though as it is the first one that I have made. I think it turned out well. Now to get a finish on it.

Shown before turning to final dimensions on the lathe.

Final Product.

Working On A Three Weight

Working On The 6'8" Three Weight

Extra short Size 11/64th step down ferrules shown below are mounted and now blued. Notice the size next to the caps. Very small.

Five inch grip as requested. Cork rings glued to the blank and then turned. Winding check was turned on the lathe out of aluminum bronze. Blued and fitted.

Close up of the signature wrap before varnish.

Thanks for looking,

Anthony

6'8" Three Weight

Here is a photo of a tip strip for Three weight build I am working on. This is a 2/2 rod that is now glued up and drying. The strip in the photo is .028. This will make up a tip section that is .056. No photos of the glue up for obvious reasons.

More to come on that rod soon.

Thanks for looking. More updates coming soon.
