7’9” Three Weight

7’9” Three Weight

Here’s another rod that recently went out to a customer to be used in the Farmington River. Fine tipped and medium action by request. Nice rod for in close and fishing small dry flies to sipping trout. Roasted maple reel seat with blackened shop made hardware. Medium flamed cane.

Here’s a rod that went out earlier this year. A 6’8” 3/4 weight. This is just a nice small stream rod to fish with. Med fast action within reasonable distances. Based on a vintage Heddon #20 taper. Variegated flame finish with a size 13/64th step down ferrule. Zebra wood spacer by request and red and black silks with a red agate stripping guide.

That Classic Look

Here is a rod finished up a little while back wrapped with clear wraps and tipping. Aesthetically pleasing and clean looking on this medium flamed rod.

Wraps are Antique Gold silk with Black silk tipping. Notice the node work under the rods serial number. Short pressed  nodes that are not overworked or sanded through.

Although I normally wrap rods with Black silks and various colors for signature wraps.

(In all honesty it is a much faster process to do Black silks. Much easier to keep the wraps very flat also.)

Clear wraps are available on all builds if this is a deal breaker for a build.

Ferrule sections are normally wrapped in Black.

Some details about the most important part of any build. The taper. My modified version of a Midge with a 12/64th stepdown ferrule. Just a great all around small stream taper. A favorite of mine that I choose to fish often.

Thanks for looking. Just wanted to put another option out there for My builds. Please check back often for more…..

Best…..Anthony
