This new bamboo rod I have from @ajpagleybambooflyrods is probably the best experience I’ve had fly fishing. Any questions I have are instantly answered by the man him self. Highly recommended.

Thank you for my new fly rod Anthony. It is beautiful. I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to fish it since it looked as though it should be framed and hung in a gallery. But all rods are meant to be fished no matter how beautiful they may or may not be.
Made a few casts on the grass in the back yard and it worked well. It was going to be a few days before I could fish it. There was a break in the rain the day I wanted to fish and when it arrived I jumped at the chance to fish it. It cast very smoothly even with a bigger weighted nymph. On the fourth cast I landed a decent large mouth bass and the five weight handled it quite well. And after ten minutes the rain came back with a vengeance. I finally had a chance to really get out and fish with it. I spent from sun up to sun down casting both tips and figuring out just exactly how my 5 weight node less wanted to be cast. It just kept getting smoother and smoother like English style butter. The accuracy was great and casting was effortless. I landed a few browns and one that went about 12” each one of them was a joy to feel as the rod came alive in my hand with each one. The light and dark strips of bamboo were mesmerizing as the sunlight played with them. As I was breaking down my rod and putting it away for the evening I couldn’t help but giggle as I thought to my self I had just fished with a piece of functioning art. From the Amboyna burl reel seat and the Witch Hazel agate stripping guide to the top top guide this rod is a thing of beauty and grace in the hand. I made the right choice in choosing a rod crafted by you Anthony. You answered all my questions and gave me great advice every time it was asked for. Thank you Anthony I can’t wait to have you build another one for me in the future. Mike Krantz from Minnesota MN

Have used it last weekend in West Virginia. Caught several browns and rainbows 2 to 4 lbs. I used both of your rods. The new one that I just bought from you is a fantastic super light. Easy 30 ft and right on target. It is a pleasure casting your rods A+. When you get a chance need for you to make me extra tip for this rod if you can. Please let me know. Thanks

I purchased the Pagley rod discussed in this thread and just took delivery of it this weekend. The rod is spectacular! Taper is a faithful Payne 98, smooth and fluid with a DT-4F. Workmanship is absolutely first rate, and the scarfs on this node-less build are beautifully executed. I am extremely pleased with the rod and would not hesitate to recommend the work of this new builder to any cane aficionado.

The four-weight rod arrived safe and sound at my home on Saturday, but I did not get a chance to take a look at it until last night. I am most impressed. The level of workmanship and attention to detail is fabulous. I enjoyed you using bamboo shavings as packing material - way more cool than just bubble wrap! I won't get a chance to try casting the rod for a few days but it is definitely a keeper. Build quality is comparable to rods I've paid quite a bit more for, definitely among the best I've seen. I've left a quick note on a relevant thread on the Classic Rod Forum praising the rod and hope it generates some more interest in your work.

Good morning Anthony, i purchased a bamboo fly rod from you earlier part of the year on eBay. Just to give you a update on your rod. 6'3 4 weight. Took it on a trip to West Virginia caught 2-3 lbs and 1-5 lbs Rainbow using a 3" Hardy St George fly reel. Great little fly rod. Keep up the great class A workmanship. I have a original Paul Young Midge and can compare to this rod. Thanks for a perfect bamboo fly rod!
